Left ban Me village, over the mountains to Pan Phou in the rain. Stopped at the top for coffee. Following scooters going up the mountain with 3 fully grown pigs all trussed in bamboo and they had to keep stopping to splash water over the bikes engines to cool them down. Didn't get photos on this ride as it was too wet.
We arrived at the resort at 11.00. First it was a ride over the swing bridge to get into the resort. Beautiful resort set in tropical gardens. Had a lovely lunch in the restaurant, dinner that night and also went and had massages. Went out in the afternoon to walk up and down the road to see how the people here lived.

After a beautiful lunch we went for a walk over the bridge and down the road, over another bridge to the other side of the river

Flower H'mong at the markets
Left at 8.00 the next morning heading back to Lao Cai. We basically went up up and up into the mountains for about 11km before we started going back down again. Had to back track on some of the tracks that we had gone on going up to Dong Van. Nearly hit a dog that ran out into the road in front of me. Another time little duckling had a suicide thought but thought better of it. Stopped to visit the markets in Bac Ha. So packed with people you could hardly move, then we had to ride our bikes through all the people. I bought a traditional H'mong head scarf.
